Ellen Powell is the founder and creative director of Blushing Confetti, a fine paper goods company that blends classic elegance with cheeky charm. Blushing Confetti was born when Ellen saw a gap in the market for wedding stationery.

From greeting cards and journals to calendars and desk essentials, she has designed thousands of products. Blushing Confetti has a  presence in a number of international markets including America, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore and the UK. Now, Ellen has launched a new venture, Pass the Cake, a dessert journal collaboration between stationery brand and nectar and stone founder, Caroline Khoo. Pass the Cake is the (food) baby of the Blushing Confetti CEO and features tried and tested nectar and stone recipes, along with space to journal and insert images. With a strong brand ethos that focusses on creating products that are more than just stationery, Ellen said the collaboration with Caroline was a natural fit.

“Caroline and I are both passionate about offering our customers complete experiences that inspire them to have fun, no matter what they’re doing – in this case, it’s when they’re in the kitchen. We worked our magic to create a Dessert Journal for our audiences that we believe is equal parts beautiful, collaborative and fun,” she said. “A focus for the design of the journal was to create something that allowed people the freedom to record the successes (and failures!) of their baking, add photos, detail inspiration and make notes alongside each recipe – ultimately building a beautiful baking keepsake to be used for years to come.”

Founder of nectar and stone, Caroline Khoo said working with the team at Blushing Confetti reflected both brands appreciation’s for inspiring others and adding a touch of ‘glitter’ to every stage of the customer experience. “From the outset, Ellen and I knew we wanted to design a journal that ticked all the boxes for our customers – inspiring, visually pretty, practical and useful,” she said. Following its official launch at The Langham Hotel in Melbourne, Pass the Cake is now available for limited pre-order online from Blushing Confetti.
