Growing up in her family’s bra business and attending lingerie trade shows in Paris, New York and London as a small child, Amy Mason
could list bra sizes before she could count. As a teenager, Amy realised this was not the norm. While she grew up knowing the importance of a correctly fitting bra, she discovered that her friends did not.

This gave Amy an idea and from here, global awareness campaign Girls Undercover was born. Not associated with any lingerie brand or company, Amy’s goal is simply to educate girls and women about the importance of lingerie which fits. To spread her message as far and wide as possible, cutting across cultural divides and language barriers, Amy harnessed the power of social media. “Teens live on their phones; social media is my generation’s way of connecting,” she said. “So what better way to spread the message that girls should go and get fitted!”

After attending VidCon Australia last year, where she shared her online campaign, Amy knew she was on to something as girls approached her admitting they were too afraid to get fitted. It was at this point that the Girls Undercover global mission began. So impactful was Amy’s VidCon visit that she became the youngest Australian influencer to ever make it onto a Billboard in Time Square.

Today, at 18, Amy has joined forces with passionate fellow educator Mary-Anne, also 18, to embark on the global mission that will encourage young girls to be their best selves and #getfitted. Mary-Anne brings a high level of confidence within her public speaking experience. She is a firm believer that it is just as important to listen to the girls during the campaign as it is to educate them. “We still have so much more perspective to grasp, we want to see global change and are prepared to go the extra mile,” Mary-Anne said. An experienced International Business student, Mary-Anne has put her university on hold. Amy and Mary-Anne are travelling around the world, virtually via social media and literally with passports in hand, to encourage all girls to get fitted.
