Founder and Creator of Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) Marie Walton-Mahon is set to launch workshops for dance students globally. After the success of PBT’s online body-conditioning courses, dance students can now learn to improve their technique face-to-face with Marie and other PBT directors. The workshops are designed for students who are currently training in any form of dance and feel the need to refine and enhance their technique.

Marie describes the motivation behind the workshops. “I decided to launch student workshops so students have first-hand knowledge on how to practice this specialised technique,” she said. “They will also understand the insight and methodology, which underpins the Progressing Ballet Technique. The students will come away with all the layers of each exercise transparent, as well as the reason behind training the proprioception of movement patterns which will enhance their training if practiced correctly.”

The workshops are divided into two categories; senior and advanced level. Senior workshops are for students who are over 11 years old, while advanced workshops are for students who are over 15 years of age. They are essentially designed for students who are currently training and take at least two classes a week. Marie will be explaining her exercises in complete detail, correct faults and encourage discussions with students to guide them with their dance training and assist them in achieving their best. “Safe dance training is my ultimate objective and motivation. I want to teach all dance students on how to protect and prepare their body as artistic athletics,” adds Marie. Marie will begin touring with her first workshop in Perth, Australia on 20 April, followed by additional workshops in Malaysia and Hong Kong.
