A highly experienced and powerhouse stylist, Liz Golding has been immersed in Queensland’s fashion and photography industries for more than 30 years. After twenty years of hair and makeup experience and extensive involvement with styling shoots and fashion shows, Liz decided to add successful businesswoman to her resume, launching Illuminate Management in 2013 and IlluminateUs PR in 2016.

She has continued to change the dynamic of her industries and is well known and respected for it. Liz started Illuminate Management, Queensland’s first photographers and creatives management agency, with the intention of filling a gap within the market by representing many types of creative professionals including hair and makeup artists, stylists, assistants and retouchers. During her career, Liz had accumulated a wealth of contacts and connections spanning the ‘Who’s Who’ of the industry. This set her on the path to her latest business endeavour, IlluminateUs PR, a flourishing public relations agency that has expanded her market of clients. “I started IlluminateUS PR because I was doing many of the PR tasks for certain clients, and I had some girlfriends who were in PR and were between jobs and children, so it suited us.”

Liz says many of her existing clients from Illuminate Management welcomed this addition in services, as their image was now managed by the one group of people. “I think constantly of the broader picture and where I can grow and change these businesses to stay relevant with the ever-changing social media and communication these days,” Liz said.

Recently, Liz realised that work life balance was important for the success of her businesses. “I don’t work all the time anymore like I did about eight years ago. I try and stick to a nine to five work day, and have days off,” she said. “It’s busy, but it certainly isn’t boring!”

Until two years ago Liz was working in the role of Fashion Editor of U on Sunday Magazine for The Sunday Mail for four years and during 2012 she worked as Fashion Editor at Q Weekend Magazine for The Courier Mail. Liz is also well known as the Styling Director of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival from 2006 to 2016. The knowledge and contacts gathered through these past roles has helped Liz as the Styling Director of Brisbane Fashion Month (BFM) in October 2018. BFM is going into its the third year and becoming one of the most powerful fashion events in Queensland. Liz says this role is a career highlight and enjoys the excitement of her busy yet rewarding lifestyle.
