Julia Rose is a celebrated floral artist with an international reputation for her work with floral arrangements. Julia has had more than 20 years experience in the industry.
Her love of flowers blossomed as a child after spending hour after hour in her grandmothers garden. “My love of flowers stems from spending hours amongst the blooms and herbs in my grandmother’s garden as a little girl. Playing inside cavernous branches of the magnificent hydrangea, picking one of my Grandfather’s prized roses to carry around with me all day to enjoy it’s sweet perfume … relocating snails out of the garden and worms into the garden,” says Julia.
Julia’s most recent collection of work features organic art, titled Shades of Earth. Her inspiration for her latest work came from Lynaah, a model she had previously worked with. “The concept was something I had been wanting to do for a while. I had worked with Lynaah previously with her hair pulled back. But I loved her afro! Basically it was all conceptualised around my models stunning skin and awesome afro,” said Juila.
Shades of Earth was taken at a farm in the Northern Rivers. “I absolutely love the glow through her wild hair, her chin held strong, yet all with a sense of ease.” Julia herself is familiar to life on a farm, and wakes up bright and early each day to collect her florals. Julia often works with event coordinators to help bring a room, event or marquee to life with flowers.
