Sabo Skirt has taken the next step in changing the way Australian women manage their health by collaborating with Pink Hope for Bright Pink Lipstick Day (BPLD) on Friday 21 September.
The Australian fashion pioneers will be retailing two exclusive and originally designed Pink Hope x Sabo Skirt t-shirts in support for women at-risk of breast and ovarian cancer. BPLD is a Pink Hope initiative that aims to raise awareness of hereditary breast and ovarian cancer. Women are encouraged to wear bright pink lipstick to show support for Pink Hope, raise funds, and facilitate conversations around their own health.
With the brands co-owners Thessy and Yiota Kouzoukas being well recognised social media #endowarriors, the pair said they knew this collaboration was a perfect fit for Sabo Skirt. “The best thing about BPLD is it’s about education and trying to encourage girls to know how likely they are to be at-risk of breast or ovarian cancer,” said Yiota. “When you know your risks, you know how to put in place preventative actions into your life and these could ultimately save your life.”
“With both of us struggling with Endometriosis, and me personally losing my left ovary and fallopian tubes last year, we have risks associated with ovarian cancer… but the only way you know this is through education services like the ones Pink Hope offers,” said Thessy.
Thessy and Yiota want the Sabo Skirt x Pink Hope t-shirt range to be a way of spreading our message further than ever before. “It’s a way of extending BPLD beyond September 21st…. like oh I’m wearing my Sabo Skirt x Pink Hope shirt, maybe I should do a breast check or book my pap smear,” said Thessy.
The Sabo Skirt x Pink Hope Crop and Sabo Skirt x Pink Hope Tee will be exclusively available for purchase on their website from 11 September, with 100 per cent of the t-shirts profits being donated to Pink Hope’s efforts in educating Australian women about their risks of breast and ovarian cancer.
