yogat is where fine art meets yoga; where the graceful colours of movement meet the intriguing colours of stunning original artworks.

Lifelong friends Carolyn Cooke and Jay Feather are the masterminds behind the brand, creating art-inspired yoga and workout mats. The extraordinary designs are the pairs own work, with future collections expanding to feature both established and emerging artists around Australia.

The first brain behind the brand, Carolyn, is a Brisbane project manager and business owner. Having grown up surrounded by entrepreneurs, it was only natural for her to act on her ideas and give anything a go. With a decade of marketing, events and communications to her name, Carolyn has established her own creative consultancy and worked with organisations including QPAC, Brisbane Powerhouse and Playgroup Queensland. Between working for the University of Wollongong and Queensland Museum, Carolyn juggles motherhood with an ambitious education and engagement program. She is passionate about women in business and so strives to inspire women to work collectively to foster a culture of empowerment and growth.

The partnering brain is Jay, an installation, contemporary abstract artist and ceramist, who’s studio is located at The Hummock, overlooking the pacific ocean in regional Queensland. Jay is a full time artist and creates works from her 1970’s studio where she is inspired daily by the ever changing landscape surrounding her home on the hill. After having her son in 2014 her works have become more expressive and colourful, referencing the sea, natural botanical elements and symbols from her day to day life. Jay’s works have been exhibited throughout Queensland and New South Wales. She has been featured on the cover of the James Cook University Discover magazine in 2011. In 2016 she was selected for the Cream of the Crop touring exhibition, QLD Regional Art Award. Most recently she was also selected as a finalist in the Little Things Art Prize, Saint Cloche, Paddington, Sydney for her painting ‘The Sea and Me’ 2017.

The brand fuses Carolyn’s background in design and project management with Carolyn’s keen eye for detail and talent as an artist. The pair have created a beautifully empowering brand, conveying their passions via distinctive yoga mats.
