Sydney based band Body Type has released new single Free To Air, taken from the forthcoming EP set to be released on Friday 3 May.

The track’s lead vocalist and guitarist Annabel Blackman explains the single is about an old neighbour. “Free To Air is about an old neighbour whose life seemed to play out entirely in his lounge room in front of the television, which he blasted day and night. My bedroom faced onto his lounge room, so it was almost like we were waking up and watching the morning news together, or having a television dinner after work. Definitely not that romantic in reality though,” says Blackman. “Matthew Griffin is a master manipulator of screens and could slice us into an assortment of scenes and onto bodies without needing us to be physically present in the process, which is the perfect disembodied embodiment to accompany the song.”

The track comes hot off the back of the band’s debut US tour including the inaugural South by Southwest Festival, where the band were praised by the likes of Brooklyn Vegan, DIY Mag, Austin Chronicle and others for their new, one of a kind sound. Free To Air follows Stingray, the first track taken from the band’s upcoming release EP2. This is the bands second release following their self-titled debut EP in late in 2018.

Body Type will head to the United Kingdom and Europe for a run of headline shows and festival plays including Live At Leeds Festival, Hit The North Festival, The Great Escape and London Calling. Along with the digital release of the EP, the band will be selling double-sided 12-inch vinyls, including the Body Type EP and EP2 for the first time.
