Jacqui Preugschat has been named a finalist for the 2020 AusMumpreneur awards in the Queensland Author category for balancing family life and work life.

The AusMumpreneaur Awards presented by The AusMumpreneaur Network celebrate and recognise Australian Mums in business achieving outstanding success in areas such as business excellence, product development, customer service and digital innovation. The awards are designed to recognise the growing number of women who successfully balance motherhood and business in a way that suits their life and family.

Jacqui has written a book series for girls called Tessa’s Books of Elegance which are story/activity books to encourage girls to use their talents and discover new ones. The reader follows the main character Tessa and learns how to have a tea party (Bk.1) and a ballet performance (Bk.2) with consistent themes of kindness, encouragement, and giving. The 3rd Book (Design Your Own Elegant Bedroom Décor with Tessa) in the series is due out in October 2020. As the series progresses Jacqui also has plans to create Tessa merchandise and a fashion line to accompany the books.

There are many benefits to balancing a business and Jacqui explains, “Being a mumpreneur allows me to have the best of both worlds due to the flexible working hours I can focus on being a mother and spending time with my four children and also focus on producing my books.”

It can be challenging to be a successful business woman whilst raising a family and Jacqui gives this advice for others thinking about starting their own enterprise. “You have to be 100 per cent passionate, dedicated and inspired about your business because if you’re not, how can you expect other people to be.” It is because of this advice that Jacqui’s book series have flourished and will continue to do so.
