Fiona O’Loughlin is one of the most in-demand comedians in the country. A late starter with an award-winning career of almost 15 years, Fiona performs to packed houses in venues and festivals across the globe. As well as a critically acclaimed stand-up comedian, Fiona is an accomplished writer, television presenter, and media personality.
Sunrise Way CEO Wendy Agar said, “I’m thrilled that Fiona O’Loughlin will be lending some star power to our June fundraiser. Many people will know Fiona from when she won the title of Queen of the Jungle in last year’s Network Ten program I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. If you watched that, you’d see just why we invited Fiona to be our special guest at our June fundraiser.
“In recent years, Fiona has overcome a well-documented ‘battle with the bottle’. Her openness and honesty about her battle while on that show, and through her other appearances, really cuts through. Her battle, like the other aspects of her life, has also become ‘material’ for her stand-up. Fiona has also appeared on many television shows, including ‘Hughesy We Have A Problem’, which of course is hosted by our special guest from last year’s event, Dave Hughes!”
Sunrise Way is committed to helping individuals living with addiction to develop skills and strategies to maintain sobriety. “We provide an essential service to the community and are not fully funded, so fundraising activities like this dinner event are an important part of our activities,” said Wendy. “It’s these initiatives that enable us to help people from our region who have been living with addiction to rebuild their lives.”
