Delta Goodrem was crowned number one of the ninth Ultra Tune Maxim Australia Hot 100 in November.

The songstress, actress and TV personality scored the top spot after a process which involved the MAXIM team scouring through readers’ feedback via the magazine’s email, social media, and online platforms informing the magazine of their favourite Australian women over the last 12 months.

Goodrem’s career sparkled through 2020 despite the world, let alone the artist scene, shutting down due to COVID-19. She managed to release her single Solid Gold from her forthcoming album, and contributed to Global Citizen – together with Lady Gaga as part of the online One World: Together At Home festival, in support of the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization.

She also co-hosted the Music From The Home Front live music event, performing Down Under with Men At Work’s Colin Hay, and her Bunkerdown Sessions allowed her to stay connected with fans around the world. More so, she launched the Delta Goodrem Foundation, which focuses on spreading kindness, hope and support for those facing illness, hardship and inequality, and she also partnered with St Vincent’s Hospital on cellular therapy research for cancer treatment.

“I feel incredibly thankful. This is a great era of my life and a wonderful honour to receive. I am grateful to be listed alongside so many other terrific individuals who are beautiful inside and out,” Goodrem said in response to receiving the award.

Joining Goodrem on the list is last year’s winner Margot Robbie and fellow local actresses making big waves in Hollywood – Samara Weaving, Sarah Snook and Elizabeth Debicki – as well as sports stars Sam Kerr and Ash Barty, comediennes Celeste Barber and Rebel Wilson, singer Jessica Mauboy, and wildlife champ Bindi Irwin amongst several more incredible women. “Our definitive list of Australia’s most talented, beautiful, successful and newsworthy women of the year celebrates the outstanding ladies who, in 2020, have impressed our readers locally, internationally or otherwise,” said MAXIM Editor-in-Chief, Santi Pintado.
