Aspiring filmmaker, Kathleen Dingwall will be making her directorial debut with ‘Empowering Women’, a documentary focussed on bringing to light the issues faced by women in the workplace.

The inspiration behind the film came from Miss Dingwall’s own personal experiences working in a male dominated industry, and similar experiences faced by her peers. Since posting a call out on her social media, Miss Dingwall has been inundated with women eager to share their stories and offer support.

Miss Dingwall states that she wanted to branch away from the usual student projects such as comedy or horror, and instead partake in a movement that inspires women to have courage and speak out. Committed to producing a film that was ‘more than just a final piece of assessment’, Kathleen is passionate about making people aware of the often untold stories of workplace discrimination.

Miss Dingwall is currently raising funds for the project via GoFundMe, and hopes to fly her film crew to Melbourne for the final interviews.
