Marama Dina and Yirran Miigaydhu exhibitions
Campbelltown Arts Centre presents Marama Dina and Yirran Miigaydhu, two exhibitions presented in conjunction with one another to celebrate female artists and reflect on a connection to country.
Marama Dina features the works of 10 iTaukei (Indigenous Fijian) women, each considering how their bloodlines and contemporary lives come together. The artists will share their exploration of cultural rejuvenation and involvement of the wider community.
Yirran Miigaydhu builds on this theme, exhibiting a culmination of artworks produced by a women’s weaving program of namesake. Yirran Miigaydhu means ”many women’ in Dharawal language, and is led by Aunty Phyllis Stewart.
