Two young female entrepreneurs are taking the fitness world by storm with the launch of their new brand. Melbourne locals 15 year old, Taya Brooks and 22 year old Tayla Hope joined forces in January 2019 to create Flextt; an activewear brand for women and teen girls.

Taya, a model and dancer, and Tayla, a fashion designer and cheerleader noted the rise in public interest in fitness apparel and with the extensive experience between them in both dance and fashion, Flextt was born. The Flextt philosophy focusses on creating pieces where “function meets fashion”. Designed to bring innovation to activewear, Flextt is made from technical custom fabrics and offers additional functional features including hidden phone pockets and earbud outlets, to maximise potential for their tech savvy buyers.

The two looked to create a product to empower and inspire confidence in every person from beginner athletes to elite sportspeople and pride themselves on being a body positive brand. Stocking sizes from XS to XXL their first collection features their famous branded leggings, crops and even accessories.

The natural born business-women initially funded the project through personal finance and their efforts were certainly rewarded. The success of the first collection resulted in a profit margin high enough to fund their current projects and future endeavours. The highly-anticipated second collection ‘Velocity’ will be launching just in time for the Melbourne Fitness Show (October 26-27) where the young entrepreneurs look to expand their audience and growth.
