Dr Maria Boulton’s achievements as an individual, a member of a passionate workplace team and a vibrant community, are as impressive as they are inspiring. Maria is a successful business owner, company director, GP, author and public speaker, as well as a mother of two, who passionately cares about holistic approaches to health.
Maria follows this passion by supporting families in the local Windsor community through her work in general practice at her own clinic Family Doctors Plus, which she founded together with colleague Dr Fiona Raciti in 2016. With a particular focus on the prevention of disease and the maintenance of wellbeing, Maria empowers people to manage and understand potential health issues proactively, providing education sessions at the clinic and in other community settings. She is also a regular guest on ABC Brisbane Radio and frequently speaks at local and national conferences of the Australian Medical Association, Women & Medicine and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
With her extensive experience in women’s health, the maintenance of health throughout the lifecourse, as well as her warm and caring manner, it is little wonder that Maria is such a well-respected and loved member of the community. In addition to her work in improving the health of local families, Maria is also active in social justice and fundraising activities, holding fundraisers at work and at home in support organisations such as the Malala Foundation and Share the Dignity, also collecting donations for QLD Cancer Council, Red Kite, and Beyond Blue.
Acknowledging the significance of her work, Maria earned a remarkable three nominations for the Women in Business Awards, for her dedication to community health as well as her business achievements. She received a merit award as the Woman in Business of the year, as well as being a finalist for the Business Achiever Award.
