Ten years ago, Roccoco Botanicals, the brainchild of cosmetic chemist Jacine Greenwood-Drummond, was born. After experiencing her own skin issues and being dissatisfied with the products available in the market, she set out to create her own skincare line.

Her business has been growing rapidly for the past five years. Greenwood-Drummond, herself, has most recently been awarded an Innovation, Technology & Research Award by the Gold Coast Women in Business Awards and was a finalist in the Gold Coast Woman in Business of the Year 2022 overall award.  She has expressed her gratitude for receiving this award and shortlisting, especially as the calibre of businesswomen who entered was so high.

Greenwood-Drummond has also been recognised for her innovation in cosmetic formulation by Cosmetics and Toiletries Magazine, which is one of the leading industry magazines for cosmetic chemists. She recently won a Cosmetics & Toiletries Alle Award in 2022 for the Ruby Crystal Cleanser. The skincare line has also been named in the Australian Financial Review FAST 100 in 2021 and appeared in the 2022 and 2023 Financial Times High Growth Company lists. Roccoco Botanicals is scheduled to launch into Canada and the United Kingdom by the end of 2023.

Greenwood-Drummond’s approach to skincare is rooted in the belief that our skin is a reflection of our internal health, and therefore, it’s important to use ingredients that are not only gentle but also nourishing. She uses a combination of science and nature to create safe and effective formulas for all skin types, even those with sensitive skin.

One of the key ingredients in Roccoco Botanicals products is prebiotics. Greenwood-Drummond explains how prebiotics are natural substances that feed the good bacteria on our skin, which in turn, helps to balance our skin’s microbiome. She made this a central component of her skincare line, because a healthy microbiome is essential for healthy skin.

In addition to prebiotics, Greenwood-Drummond uses other natural ingredients such as botanical extracts and essential oils. She avoids harsh chemicals that can be harmful to our skin and instead focuses on using gentle, plant-based ingredients that work with our skin’s natural processes.

Greenwood-Drummond is dedicated to ensuring that Roccoco Botanicals products are formulated to address specific skin concerns. Her line includes products for acne-prone skin, rosacea-prone skin, and aging skin. Originally a consumer brand, Greenwood-Drummond believes that Roccoco Botanicals caught the attention of Professional Beauty because of her rapid results and education that she delivers.

In addition to her success as a skincare entrepreneur, Greenwood-Drummond is also a sought-after speaker and educator in the beauty industry. She has given lectures on treating acne and other skin conditions and has trained skincare professionals on properly using her products.  Greenwood-Drummond’s passion for science and nature has led her to create a skincare line that not only aims to make us look good, but also prioritises our overall well-being.
