Australian fashion label Jagger & Stone is heading to the Big Apple for New York Fashion Week to premiere its new collection Wild Knights on Friday 7 September.
The brand, which originally launched in May this year, was created after Gold Coast born and bred fashion designers and best friends Lucy Jackson, 28, and Nikki Westcott, 27 noticed a gap in the festival fashion market. “We made Jagger & Stone for the bad girls. For the girls that are always the last to leave the party & the girls who never let an early night get in the way of a good story,” the girls, known collectively as The Wild Ones, said.
In a way, the pair had been studying the industry for several years. In 2015, Jackson and Westcott created an Instagram account dedicated to curating Splendour in the Grass fashion. But it was when they combined this passion with their shared background in marketing that they had the knowledge they needed to launch their business.
Now just four months later, Jagger & Stone will be showcasing its second collection as part of the Fashion Palette show on 7 September alongside other Australian brands such as The Blonde Republic, Elliatt and Saski Collection. Fashion Palette, now in its fifth season, is an Australian fashion agency designed to help fashion designers expand their business, and was launched in 2009. It serves as a platform for elevating and celebrating independent Australian brands and launching them into the US market by giving showcasing designers rare opportunities, tools and contacts.
