KUCKA Australian music sensation has shared her latest single Ascension, which is out now on streaming platforms.

The beautiful and jagged Ascension explores her particular brand of digital soul, a synthesis of percussion-heavy R&B and Avant-electronica centralized around her soft vocals. Ascension is another display of the producer’s delicate musical balancing act and soundscape that consists of minimal and continually threatening to subsume her within its textural heft at the same time.

KUCKA says, “Ascension is about the continual growth that we are all undertaking at every stage of our life. We’re constantly faced with new challenges whether we realize it or not, and it’s important that we don’t let our fears get in the way of our enjoyment of the process.”

“The video emphasizes our interconnectedness and the depth we can feel through a digital network,” she said. Throughout the video, the viewers find themselves in a game played by KUCKA focusing on the path to inner enlightenment. They interact with her journey as she collects crystal balls and levels up where they tune into the experience in a virtual environment.

Following her recent release of Contemplation in July, Ascension is her second new single of 2020. Having released her first solo material in three years with the Flume-assisted Drowning before following it up in a short succession with the Nosaj Thing-co-produced Real – the number one most played song on triple j in November, KUCKA has had a successful run.

KUCKA has long aligned herself with some of the most exciting artists working on the frontiers of hip hop and electronic music today, sharing credits with Flume, SOPHIE, Vince Staples and A$AP Rocky.
