Brisbane based Cali Social has announced its founder and director  Lauren Swidenbank has been named ‘Digital Marketer of Year’ at the national 2020 Women in Digital National Awards for the successful paid ad campaign she implemented for an Ecommerce client.

Cali Social was founded in 2018 by Lauren who had a vision to empower brands to reach new levels of success through their online marketing. The Women in Digital Awards were founded based on the idea ‘you can’t be what you can’t see.’ Run annually, they celebrate the many incredible women in Australia working within the digital industries and the organisations that support them.

The Digital Marketer of Year award, sponsored by Canva, recognises Australia’s best talent in digital and data driven marketing. This award is designed to celebrate a data driven Digital Marketer who has achieved exceptional results across any mediums including but not limited to search, paid, programmatic, eDM, content, social media, automation or omni-channel.

Lauren was chosen due to her exceptional work managing the digital marketing for an automotive ecommerce client. As with all her campaigns, she wanted to get under the skin of who the target customer was and what type of content they would respond to, and even attended car meets as part of her research.

Here’s what the judges had to say about Lauren’s incredible achievements. “From the moment I read this entry it stuck with me. I love the thinking outside the box approach, attending car meets, taking the client to challenge herself and what an incredible result. Stand out entry for me based on her candid and relatable entry.”

“Loved her enthusiasm and obvious passion and pride for what she does. She was very customer focused in her approach and has a great attitude to her work. The results are impressive and I feel would not have been achieved if she did not have the drive and love for what she does.”

“I can feel Lauren’s passion for her campaign and all things digital when reading her entry!! A fantastic example of how when you challenge self doubt with determination, data, strategy and testing & learning you can achieve impressive results.”

Lauren comments, “For a boutique agency to win such an award is really rewarding. When I set up the businesses, I wanted to show brands of all sectors and sizes that digital marketing can have such a phenomenal impact, if done well. To be recognised by a team of industry experts shows I’m doing something right, and is testament to the hard work of all the team, and the loyalty and commitment of my clients.”
