Queensland born chef, Lisa Mead, has cooked her way between the Australian, the Mediterranean and the Caribbean, spending the past 26 years establishing her career on board yachts in the British Virgin Islands and five-star villas.

During this time Mead has cooked for royalty, and heads of state and celebrities, including Chevy Chase. Mead now also hosts her own cooking show, Galley Gourmet with Chef Lisa. A fascinating look into her years spent cooking on yachts, Mead also showcases culinary delights of the local chefs of the British Virgin Islands. Now in its eighth season, the cooking show airs across the United States, Canada, South America and throughout the Caribbean.

Drawing on inspiration from her career spent sailing her way around the Mediterranean and the Caribbean, Mead’s cuisine is also influenced from her time spent living and cooking in South East Asia. During her time there, Mead was able to gain valuable experience about the local cuisine and the importance of using fresh ingredients, which still has a significant impact on the dishes she serves up today. Mead is a true inspiration to both local and international female chefs alike. Her culinary skills, expertise and ability to not shy away from pushing past career norms has allowed her to travel to beautiful destinations, while cooking for some of the most influential people in the world.
