Losari Home and Woman has launched its latest boho-chic home collection, Meraki. Brisbane-based mum and designer Kirsty Ballentine-Turnbull started the label nearly five years ago, aiming to fill a niche gap that she felt existed within the homewares market. “The time came when I had a new home that needed work and couldn’t find the pieces I wanted, pieces that would feel beautiful, feel comfortable, and bring that special softness to the home” she said.

Kirsty, then working in Human Resources and spending her days in corporate wear, hung up her suits, rolled up her sleeves and embraced a creativity that had long existed in her soul. “I’ve always been an artist, dabbling with acrylics on canvas, and I just had this vision,” Kirsty said. “I knew there was an opportunity in the Australian marketplace where I could create white on white homewares – soul nourishing designs with a bohemian edge.”

She began with limited collections which sold out quickly. From there, her Instagram following exploded and within months, Losari Home was born. “For Losari Home, I want to instill a sense of calm, softness and gentleness,” Kirsty explained. “I want my people to feel like they are experiencing a soul moment, in every moment.”

Meraki features a new range of Losari’s signature pieces of oversized hand-loomed cushions, poufs, and throws. All are made from beautiful fabrics with tassels, delicate lace, macramé, intricate weaves and colour pallets of pastels, ivories and whites. To ensure the new collection was captured in a way best representative of her style, Meraki was sent to Milan, Italy to be photographed by esteemed photographer and stylist Paulina Arcklin. Arcklin’s work has appeared in more than 20 gloss magazines, including Elle Australia.

“[Losari Home] is about wanting to embrace the feminine,” Ballentine-Turnbull said, “…and be able to create a calm space where you can come home after a crazy, busy day and stop the world, breath in and feel nurtured in a beautiful environment.”
