Australian born, Los Angeles based songwriter, producer, vocalist, and multimedia artist George Maple has released her new video for Magic Woman.
This video is an insight into the powerful glory of the divine feminine,” said Maple. “We are awake, alive and ready. It is dedicated to the women who weave and bind the threads of their communities, slowly healing centuries of intergenerational pain. For the women who have sat in circles around the table and supported one another. For the women who have inspired one another. For the women who I’ve had the privilege of learning from and who have been constant support and guidance.”
Maple wrote, produced, styled, directed and edited the video via her own production company, launching in August. “I’ve silently been taking on many of these roles for myself and other artists for years. I feel confident enough now to own the space entirely and continue to use my platform to create pieces of work I’m proud of. I am looking forward to learning, growing and collaborating in the cinematic and performance medium.”
Maple’s resume features more than 340 million Spotify streams, 350,000 Shazam followers, US number #1 records, sold out shows from Paris to Sydney and more than 20 million YouTube views. Maple released her debut LP, Lover, in October 2017 to glowing reviews from critics and fans alike. The record established Maple’s position in the musical landscape, debuting at #2 on the Australian iTunes Charts and receiving millions of streams globally. Maple has written and produced hits for global superstars such as DJ Snake, Hayden James, Flume, What So Not, and has toured with Lorde and 6Lack. Last year Maple was invited to join the Recording Academy, the prestigious society of music professionals behind the GRAMMYs, and attended the esteemed event in Los Angeles.
