Shelley Reys AO Djiribul Woman of Far North Queensland is CEO of Arrilla Indigenous Consulting, and also a Partner and Board Member at KPMG Australia.

She will be a keynote speaker at this year’s Women in Leadership Summit 2022 in Sydney on February 22 to 25. Her speech will be about The power of courageous conversations and backing your convictions: examining a lifelong journey of combatting racism in Australia.

Shelley has more than 25 years of experience in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and reconciliation landscape. She was the inaugural Co-Chair of Reconciliation Australia, was awarded the Order of Australia for her work in the Indigenous arena and was named one of the Australian Financial Review’s 100 Women of Influence.

Shelley knows that having courageous conversations is the way forward for real cultural understanding, awareness, and change. In this session you will learn to appreciate that feeling quietly uncomfortable because you don’t know what to say is not how change is made. Shelley talks us through how to have a courageous conversation and how to back your convictions without causing offence or disrespect.
