With a collective goal to bring the newest and best underground electronic music from the internet to life, etcetc and Sidechains are thrilled to join forces on the upcoming Sidechains Club Vol.3 compilation album which is set to be released in December this year. One of those emerging talents is Sydney electro-pop producer, singer and songwriter, Trophie.

As the lead track on the upcoming compilation album, Trophie delivers a vibrant slice of electronic-pop with ‘Fantasy’. Written after an unintentional night out on the town in Berlin, ‘Fantasy’ is about a fleeting moment of intense lust with a stranger and drops today via Sidechains.

“Originally I only went out to keep myself up because I had an early flight the next day. We pretty much clicked straight away but time was limited to a few hours because I needed to get to the airport to catch my flight. The song captures those feelings of intense emotion felt over a short period of time and the kind of happy/sad feeling you get because you’re happy you’ve met them, but sad that you didn’t get to see where it could have gone,” said Trophie.

Since humble beginnings as an irregular queer-friendly Sydney club night, Sidechains has become a name synonymous with breaking cutting-edge electronic music, adding a record label, weekly radio show, and a thumping club compilation series to growing offering.

Sidechains founder Denzel Sterling opens up about what inspired the birth of Sidechains, “I’ve always wanted to curate my own compilations. I grew up listening to all sorts of compilations and discovered so many of my favourite artists and labels through that process (shout out Bang Gang 12 inches). The Sidechains compilations allow me push focus towards up and coming Australian producers/vocalists that I believe are the next wave of musicians really moving our music and culture forward into exciting new areas.”
