Sisters and Founders of The Hamper Emporium Emily and Amy McWaters have recorded an annual turnover of $17.5 million, with more than 100,000 orders dispatched in 2018. This record-breaking sales milestone saw a gift being sold every 14 seconds during the peak season leading up to Christmas last year, with more than one million hamper components, including almost 70,000 bottles of Champagne, wine and beer, being processed.

Founder and CEO of The Hamper Emporium and SOL Group Australia Emily and COO Amy are an impressive pair. With a background in the hotel industry and other businesses, Emily and Amy created The Hamper Emporium as part of SOL Group Australia, alongside other gifting website Gifts Australia. SOL (Sold Online) Group Australia was formed in 2014 following the sale of the wholesale arm of the business.

The Hamper Emporium is led by sister management team – Emily McWaters, Amy McWaters and youngest sister Libby McWaters. Libby left the business in mid-2018 to pursue further growth as a Buying Specialist. The Hamper Emporium’s warehouse and the office is in Sydney’s Regents Park. The team is now 25 strong, and this number increases to close to 100 during the lead-up to Christmas. Some of the luxe brands featured in The Hamper Emporium’s hampers include Moet & Chandon, Hennessy, Seafolly, L’Occitane, Jurlique, Benefit, Sheridan and Veuve Clicquot, as well as exclusive wine and gourmet food options sourced from South Australia’s Kangaroo Island. Qantas, AMP, Westpac and American Express are among The Hamper Emporium’s corporate clients.

The company has seen a 72 per cent growth over the past two years. More than one and a half million users who access SOL Group’s websites annually across more than two million sessions. The average hamper order is $159.
