Micro-focused project The Seed Scheme has opened applications for its Rural Woman program, sponsored by Regional Australia Bank. The Seed Scheme focuses on helping rural women start and succeed in business, with the Rural Women offering sponsored memberships to ten women in each of its eight targeted areas. These include Gunnedah, Walgett, Glen Innes, Coonabarabran, Woolgoolga, Temora, Roma and Yarrawonga.
The Seed Scheme was founded by Rebel Black and during its first 12 months it enabled the development of 700 rurally based, women-led online micro-enterprises. This injected $17.5 million into the rural economy and returned enormous social value to the participating founders, sponsor partners and their communities.
Successful applications from each of the eight rural locations will receive weekly online mentoring and training in business and technology valued, access to a dedicated POD Coordinator and 24/7 access to hundreds of hours of recorded training in marketing, sales, financial management, product development, events, social media, mindset and business. They will also be given a full suite of technology to run their online business including store manager, blog hosting, store, payment gateway, online events room, course and content management and marketing materials -valued at $12,000 per year. All funding is provided by Regional Bank Australia.
Those living in any of the locations are invited to apply, especially those lacking the support needed to start or scale their online business.
