Canberra photographer Holly Franklin has won the national Find A Photographer award for the Community category. the inaugural Find A Photographer Australia Photography Business Awards were held at the Coburg Town Hall. The Awards honour and recognise the contribution that professional photographers running photography businesses make to their local communities.
Being a photographer is more than just creating amazing imagery; these people are often giving back to their communities in ways that can never be repaid. Holly is a business owner, managing her photographic business Holly Boudoir. She has grown and developed a community of more than 5000 members in her Facebook group, which focuses on the empowerment of women, body positivity and being part of a supportive network. Her online community is a supportive network championing beauty in all shapes and sizes that many women look up to. She is also currently working on a personal project on #realwomen where she photographs a diverse range of women within a rocky landscape.
The Find a Photographer Awards is a nationally-recognised event, with entrants coming from all over Australia. There are six categories that photographers can be nominated in: Philanthropy, Client Experience, Studio Design, Community, Creativity and Marketing.
