Women Chiefs of Enterprises International Queensland members and their guests gathered at FareShare in Brisbane on Thursday evening for a tour of the food rescue facility followed by a dinner prepared by international chef James Fien. FareShare Executive Director, Queensland Fiona Maxwell outlined the great work of the organisation and shone the light on some startling statistics about food economy in Australia. FareShare aims to create 5 million meals a year for those in need. Guests learned that one in five Australians do not have enough to eat, and that on average, each of us wastes 120kg of food each year.
