The annual Greater Brisbane Women in Business Awards Gala was held on the 27 September at the Emporium Hotel in South Bank. The exciting initiative for women provides a platform to honour outstanding and successful businesswomen and industry achievers. The awards encourage ambition, empower confidence and inspire new female leaders now and into the future.

There are categories to recognise exceptional women including the premier award – the Woman in Business of the Year. The awards also open to young women making a difference with a special category – the Empowering Young Women’s Award open to high school students.

The top prize of Woman in Business of the Year Award was taken home by Louise Pole, for her work as President of the Australian Federation of Air Pilots, and as a Qantaslink Q400 pilot. Finalists for this prize included co-founder and Marketing Director of Splice Marketing, Ellie Bakker, and Gemma Renton, for her work as owner of Vine Street Digital.

The Women in Business Awards provide a platform to seek out successful and talented achievers and visionaries making a difference across Brisbane, Gold Coast, the Downs, and Central and Northern QLD. The winner of the Empowering Young Women’s Award was awarded to Mount Gravatt State High School student Gabrielle Crotty, with both runners-up being Wellington Point State High School students.
