Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise (TSBE) Health has partnered with Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN to host the inaugural Women in Health series.

The pilot event of this series took place on 17 September at the Burke & Wills Hotel in Toowoomba and  focused on the topic of the health workforce in 2050, and how innovation and technology is changing the way healthcare is provided. It was designed to understand what the workforce will be like in 2050 for women, and how women can secure these jobs.

Women play an instrumental role within the healthcare sector in the Darling Downs region and the event featured presentations from an array of local feminist health professions. Speakers at the event included Jaden Frame (TSBE Health General Manager), Kathryn McKeefry (CEO St Vincents Hospital), Merrilyn Strohfeldt ( CEO, Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN) and Shirley- Anne Gardiner ( Executive Director, Toowoomba Hospital).

The purpose of this event series is to bring women in health together for networking, career progression discussions and support. TSBE Health noticed a gap in the marketing of health events for women and realised that to continue to see the region grow and prosper, there is a need to promote the connectivity of women.
