Eight years ago while running her family owned restaurant on the Gold Coast, Tracy Coles had her chefs prepare meals for her to take home and reheat after work. Tracy was time poor and exhausted after working all day in the restaurant, but still wanted to nourish her family with tasty, healthy and fresh meals.
“It’s hard trying to juggle a young family and a business,” she says. “In doing so, we began to think about how many other people out there were also working long hours and didn’t have time to prepare themselves good, wholesome and tasty meals.” Tracy and her husband did some research into what other companies were offering. They found that there was a lack of fresh meals delivered services in Australia, with the traditional frozen meal being ever popular. The couple decided to leave the restaurant business to focus on fresh, home delivered meals.
“We obtained the HACCP certification for food safety and have a purpose built commercial facility in Arundel, just outside Queensland’s Gold Coast, which has allowed us to expand our vision for the company,” says Tracy. The business, Fresh Meals 2 U, is a new concept in terms of offering freshly, chef prepared meals delivered straight to the door of customers. With more than 50 meals on offer, Fresh Meals 2 U has expanded substantially delivering to Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, Newcastle & Sydney. The menu comprises of breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, with gluten-free, vegetarian and corporate options available.
