Susannah George is the CEO and Founder of iconic award-winning Australian digital media company Urban List.
A fifth-generation entrepreneur, who grew up in Bundaberg, Queensland, Susannah founded Urban List from her bedroom in 2011 driven by a desire to connect and inspire millions of culture seekers to find and do more of what they love.
Under Susannah’s leadership, Urban List has grown to become the largest independently owned platform of its kind and the number one destination for culture seekers in Asia Pacific, serving 30,000 recommendations an hour to an online community of more than three million people looking for quality experiences to eat, buy, book, do and see across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. She has built a thriving business culture with 40 people working successfully across three countries in a highly flexible, mostly remote working environment.
Susannah’s impressive ability as an entrepreneur has been recognised on several occasions including when she was named QUT inaugural Outstanding Entrepreneurial Alumnus (2021), was a finalist in the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards (2019) and listed among the most influential voices in media as B&T’s Media Woman Of The Year (2015). She is also an ambassador for The Hunger Project’s Unleashed Women initiative and a member of YPO (Young Presidents’ Organisation).
