Liz Ward and Fabienne Wintle are co-founders of Tourism Tribe, an award-winning online learning hub and community of 1600 tourism businesses around Australia and the world. Tourism Tribe, founded in 2015, exists to help people in tourism have a sustainable business no matter where they are located.
It connects people in tourism with peers and experts in order to learn from one another. It also acts as a support platform, delivering strategies and online training on a year-round schedule so tourism operators can get answers to important questions from some of the top brains in the industry. Liz and Fabienne are recognised leaders in the field of training, digital tools and technologies for tourism businesses, 90 per cent of which are small businesses. Their vision is to help people in tourism to continue doing what they love in a sustainable manner.
Fabienne is a digital strategist who empowers tourism businesses to make the most of digital technology. Her hands-on approach has given thousands of business owners the tools and knowledge they need to grow. She is an Advance Queensland Digital Champion for the State Government, bringing together industry, government and the community to gain digital knowledge and skills, and build capacity.
Liz is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Institute of Management, and is a board director for Tourism and Events Queensland. She helps foster innovation and business improvement through being a regular judge for the Queensland Tourism Awards and is a passionate supporter of fellow female entrepreneurs, helping many young women achieve their dreams including being a mentor for QTIC’s young professionals program and being the Queensland president of Women Chiefs of Enterprise.
