Indian-Australian entrepreneur, creative director and performer, Aarti Bajaj has been announced as a finalist in the prestigious India Australia Business and Community Awards (IABCA). The awards celebrate the Australia-India relationship while honouring entrepreneurship and community leadership.

Aarti Bajaj, a Gold Coast mother-of-two and medical sonographer, is not only the creative director of groundbreaking production company, Wild Dreamer Productions and lead performer in the stage spectacular, MEERA but also the director of the soon-to-be-launched international creative arts collective, 9 Expressions. “It feels wonderful to be an Indian-Australian, and to be recognised for my commitment to breaking barriers in the world of the arts in Australia and around the world,” said Ms Bajaj.

2019 has been a highly contested year with nearly 300 entries received across twelve categories that have ultimately given the panel of experts to deliberate over this list for over eight weeks. The IABCA currently has an alumni of 1400 members across Australia and India.

The annual IABCA Gala will be hosted at Howard Smith Wharves in Brisbane on 11 October 2019, with an invite-only event for the IABCA stars on 16 August 2019 amidst the Apollo 11 exhibit at the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences in Sydney. This exclusive event will be held in the presence of His Excellency, Dr. A.M Gondane, High Commissioner of India to Australia, and the Hon. Julian Leeser MP, representing the Senator the Hon. Simon Birmingham, Minister for Trade, Tourism, and Investment.

“It is an honour just to be invited to this prestigious event, let-alone be selected as a finalist for such a highly-regarded award,” said Ms Bajaj. “It isn’t easy to juggle my medical, artistic, creative, entrepreneurial and Mummy life together but most days I win, and it’s all because of my amazing Wild Dreamer Productions team and continuous support I get from my super supportive husband and loving kids.”
