Katrina Skebes founder of Brides Central was inspired to begin her journey in the bridal industry after planning her own wedding. Finding it difficult to locate trusted vendors, suppliers and products in such a cluttered industry, Katrina felt there was a gap in the market when it came to offering brides a range of accessible high-quality options. With 12 years of corporate events and functions in her back pocket, Katrina knew she had the knowledge and passion to create a space that like-minded brides could visit and trust.
Already mastering events in the business world and taking on the task of planning her own wedding, Katrina enrolled in the Australian Academy of Wedding and Event Planning to elevate her knowledge of the wedding industry. With the experience gained, Brides Central’s social media presence flourished, and venues, suppliers and brides followed.
The mother of three has now been working on Brides Central for six years. Initially struggling to find the right design partner, Katrina began working with one of Brisbane’s most successful digital agencies Digital8 who brought her visions to life. Through collaboration Katrina and the team at Digital8 have worked to serve every brides’ needs through expert research and curated content. Brides Central showcases a collection of the best wedding vendors, locations, suppliers and designers. Offering brides a range of high-quality, trusted brands, information is updated weekly, with the aim of making every bride’s wedding day a little easier.
