Taylor Marlene Curry has won this year’s Miss Grand Australia competition. The pageant aims to make a stand for the betterment of humanity, by ensuring all entrants are passionate about humanity, well-spoken and gracious.
Ms Curry said that she feels honoured and humbled to have won and plans to use her reign to promote social justice. “I wish to continue to advocate and promote awareness of the vulnerable within our community suffering under domestic abuse, child violence, health inequality and injustices. I believe that the Miss Grand International host country gives me the unique opportunity to bare witness to a country suffering immediate crisis. I hope to return with the tools and firsthand accounts of the devastations occurring overseas to motivate others to take a stand and achieve a sense of moral obligation to touch the lives of those in need,” she said.
Having completed in pageants such as World Supermodel Production in 2016 and Miss World Australia 2017, Ms Curry likes taking on the competitive competitions and setting goals for herself. “Apart from my advocacies I’m passionate about socialising and building relationships with people from all walks of life, from my cliental and health services to fashion events, runways, functions and charity balls. I have a love of travel and challenging myself to new adventures, with 21 countries ticked off my bucket list I’m eager to add Venezuela to the list. As an Australian Champion four times over in Ballroom and Latin Dancing where I represented my country at the world championships, I look forward to taking the international stage once again, guaranteed to experience unforgettable moments and a world of new knowledge.”
