QMusic has announced the appointment of Angela Samut as CEO following a national search. Samut will start with QMusic on Tuesday 30 April, replacing Joel Edmondson who has joined the Queensland Music Festival as Executive Director.
Samut brings a strong background to her new role. Since 2014, she has been the Communications and Marketing Manager for Screen Queensland during a period of strong growth for the organisation. Samut’s previous roles have included Publicity and Promotions Manager with Paramount Pictures, Publicist with Network 10 and National Publicist for Festival Mushroom Records from 2002 to 2004.
QMusic President Michael Crutcher welcomed Samut to the team. “We’re delighted that Angela will join QMusic. The final field for the position was very strong and the interview process showcased several strong contenders from several states,” he said. “Angela will bring to QMusic an exciting background from her work within the music industry to her most recent appointment as a highly-regarded Communications and Marketing Manager at Screen Queensland. She has an excellent understanding of Queensland’s creative industries and she is clearly passionate about the music industry. She will join QMusic in our 25th year at a time when we’re continuing on an unprecedented period of growth.
