Author Daniela Wilson is launching her new book Onward and Upward on 10 November. The book taps into the growing movement of people taking back their power over how they live, what they eat and how they heal. Onward and Upward aims to remind readers to take care of themselves and of the power of love and faith in leading an easier life.
This book has been a lifetime in the making for Wilson. “I have been through a lot in my life; especially over the last 12 years. It defined me as a I conquered more and more. When I was told I wouldn’t ever get out of bed, I just fought more,” she said. “My journey of life-changing transformation was the motivation and catalyst for writing this book.” Twelve years ago, she was given a dire prognosis. Instead of allowing the diagnosis to define her, Wilson powered on to earn a university degree and change her life. “I learned that thing are not as they appear. You can change anything in your life from your diet, values and beliefs to your profession. We can all be who we want to be,” she said.
“I did this; it took me so much heart ache, trial and error. I wanted to package all of this into a book that focuses on the four pillars of healthy living: emotional, mental, physical and faith,” said Wilson. Onward and Upward is a hands-on book that takes readers on a journey of discovery. “It is not just about the what but the how and why. There is no one size fits all approach to life but Onward and Upward explores the mind, body and spirit with actions people can take.” The book provides information, sharing experiences and interviews that give the reader tools for application and tips to get ahead. It also includes a convenient list of resources.
“I can’t build a hospital or a church, but I can start a movement of love … giving all I’ve got to help people live a better life. I have spent so much money and time and come so far on my own. I don’t want others to do that by themselves. Using what I have learnt, they can do things easier and faster.”
