UNE PIECE and Lusid Art presents the Praise You art exhibition on Thursday 22 August at Light Space in Fortitude Valley. This exhibition is a body of work with the power to make a difference, celebrating body positivity and empowering women.

Praise You saw success in 2017 and 2018, becoming Australia’s largest female art show with a line-up of renowned female artists from across the globe. Praise You proudly supports the Butterfly Foundation – Australia’s national organisation for eating disorders and body image. In the past two years Praise You has raised $13,000 for the Butterfly Foundation, and the event is gaining momentum. Praise You is now back for its third year presented by Creator and Co-founder Alex Saba (Founder of Lusid Art) and Co-founder Carly Brown (Founder of UNE PIECE). Driven by a passion and commitment to further women’s empowerment and body positivity, Alex and Carly run the event as a passion project alongside their own businesses in continuing efforts to support the work of The Butterfly Foundation.

“Praise You is a homage to the women who have supported every step I’ve taken in my journey. It’s time to open up the conversation about women supporting each other’s creative and personal journeys. Praise You is a celebration of this shift in conversation towards women uplifting and supporting one another, body positivity and all elements of the female form through visual art,” says Saba.

“We are passionate about fostering confidence and empowerment for women – and celebrating body positivity. I’m humbled by the generosity of the 40 talented female artists who are involved with Praise You. They have rallied behind us donating their precious time and work to contribute to much needed awareness of this cause and funds for the vital work that The Butterfly Foundation do,” says Brown.

In 2019 Lightspace have also come onboard, donating their beautiful venue space to the cause. Praise You showcases compelling artworks across several mediums and styles, including typography, illustration, and photography and wearable art, and features pieces from 40 globally renowned artists including, Amy Clemens, Ellen Porteus, Me Oh My Girl, Mosessa, Mel Stringer, Sophia Mary Mac and Kate Pullen.
