Beck Thompson, a social worker, has helped people navigate the flotsam and jetsam of life. In charge of an organisation for the homeless, Beck has poured her heart into her work to assist those in need to live healthy, happy lives.

When Beck found out she was pregnant with her son, she saw an opportunity to use her skills elsewhere – by launching The Relationship Circle and focusing on single women and couples to help guide them to better relationships. “My little boy Flynn is nine months old. He is the light of my life. In a few months, I have to decide if I will go back to my job; I have a choice. I have a fulfilling role in working with the homeless waiting for me. But I want to show Flynn that there are more options in life than to just have a job,” she said.

The ever-changing dynamics of families and relationships in today’s society inspired Beck to commence her business in turn to help others. “It’s so hard to keep up with each other with the hustle and bustle of life. Many of us learn how to have relationships and communication from our parents – good and bad.

“We don’t get taught how to do relationships well, and I want to be a catalyst for change in how we relate, especially parents, because they are raising the next generation. We can change the world and how we interact, if as parents, we learn to ‘couple’ well,” she said.
