Sunshine Coast based Spectacular Events / Spectacular World Travel celebrated 20 years in business on June 6, with one owner and manager at the helm throughout that time.

Small business owner and conference and event manager, Zoë Sparks, is thrilled that her travel and events business has not only stood the test of time but is continuing to grow and thrive. Ms Sparks says her secret to success and longevity is to regularly restructure and diversify to meet the current needs of the market, and to be at the forefront by being proactive with change rather than reactive. She says that sheer hard work, determination, drive, forward planning and surrounding herself with the right people are the keys to success, as well as networking and supporting her local community.

After winning three Excellence in Business awards,  Spectacular World Travel was inducted into the Sunshine Coast Business Awards Hall of Fame in 2005 and since then they have never looked back. “Entering your business and its people for awards is essential to gain credibility and be recognised as leaders in your industry or field of expertise,” Zoe said. “Of course, you need to earn the right to be nominated, and that comes from focusing on developing an inclusive culture, strong leadership, constant marketing and having systems in place. As well as consistently delivering the highest level of customer service.”

Zoë’s company continues to thrive and looks after a number of prestigious conferences, events, school and sporting groups, and special interest tours. In March this year, Spectacular Events launched a new division, SHINE Business Women, which delivered its inaugural conference at the Novotel Twin Waters Resort on June 1 and 2. “Our mission is to Support, Help, Inspire, Nurture and Empower women of all experience levels, age and stature and in 2019 we shall deliver these events around Australia and New Zealand, starting in Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland. It’s exciting times ahead.”
