Founder of The New Garde Jodie Hilton will open her latest venture UnCommon Store at 707 Ann Street, Fortitude Valley in June. Bringing a carefully curated collection of services and design aesthetics, it is sure to surprise and delight the neighborhood and surrounding suburbs.

Forget fast fashion or space fillers: every one of the brands featured in the store is the creation of a designer with a dream. The offering at Uncommon Store is unique, influenced by the diverse backgrounds and rich stories of the designers. The brands featured in the new store have been nurtured by The New Garde, a creative hub that supports and guides independent designers as they start and scale successful fashion initiatives. In The New Garde, the growth of these emerging brands is supported through mentoring, marketing and product development, to get them to production point and then launched via Uncommon Store.

In addition, the store has transformed the shopping experience for its customers. Offering services typical of luxury retailers, customers can expect consultations with personal stylists, in-house alterations, refreshments and unique gift wrapping.

Hilton said the venture provided a further opportunity to connect with people creatively and organically. “The idea behind Uncommon store is to grow our very real connection with our existing customers who are made to feel they’re part of the family, and start-up fashion brands carving out their own space,” said Hilton. “Rather than contributing to run-of-the-mill advertising, we strive to connect deeply with people on a real level, on their terms. Uncommon store celebrates individuality and human connections. This is conveyed by the brands created by our talented designers which are loved and supported by our customers. We welcome people from every walk of life to express themselves through personal style with Uncommon Store”.

UnCommon Store understands its customers lead busy lives and has tailored services to make their online shopping experience more personal. Called the “Trunk Club”, the uncommonstore.co offers real-time stylist services, curbside pick-up, size reservations, in-house alterations, and easy returns. If a purchase is made online, customers are given the option of visiting the shop front on Ann St for pick-up or free standard shipping to their Australian address.
